Bluetooth
Razer wireless mice, keyboards, and headsets pair through the standard Windows Bluetooth stack, so they work at a basic level without any extra driver. Razer's configuration software is what unlocks lighting, macros, sensor settings, and firmware updates on top of that connection. Install the companion app only if you want to tune those features; the pairing itself does not depend on it.

The Kiyo line is Razer's streaming-focused webcam, with some models featuring a built-in ring light. Its image controls and, where present, the light are managed through Razer Synapse. It targets streaming and gaming desks. The camera itself produces video on the standard driver, but adjusting brightness, the ring light, and image settings depends on Synapse being installed.

Synapse is Razer's configuration platform for its keyboards, controlling per-key Chroma lighting, macros, and profiles that can be saved to the board. It is aimed at gaming and streaming desks and often manages other Razer peripherals in the same window. The keyboard types on its own, but Chroma effects and remaps only appear once Synapse is installed and signed in.

Razer's companion software supports its USB devices and powered hubs, exposing lighting, profiles, and firmware updates for those peripherals. The underlying USB data path uses the standard Windows drivers, so the hardware functions without it; the software adds configuration on top.
